Go To Cornbelly’s

Cornbelly’s has a pumpkin patch and corn mazes AND MORE so it really needed its own category. Cornbelly’s at Thanksgiving Point (and their new location in Spanish Fork) is filled with free carnival games, a huge corn maze in the shape of their yearly theme, “Insanity Point” with haunted and scare-filled activities, food, bounce houses, zip lines, you name it!

With something for all ages at all time of day (or night), this is a favorite fall activity of ours.

Visit the Witches at Gardner Village’s WitchFest

Gardner Village is located in West Jordan and is filled with adorable local shops and restaurants surrounded the historical Gardner Mill. During the Autumn time they fill the area with witches and host many “witch” themed events. One of our favorites is the Witch Scavenger Hunt. They also have a “Witchapalooza Dinner Theater” masquerade ball, a 5k Witch Run, and their “Witches Night Out” with witches roaming the premises (friendly witches!) for photos and fun. Some even show up to events dressed as witches!

Enjoy walking around the premises, visit shops, and enjoy a bit to eat at one of their restaurants.

Drive The Alpine Loop

The Alpine Loop might be the most beautiful drive in Utah to see the changing leaf colors. The drive is 20 miles through the Uinta National Forest from American Fork Canyon to Provo Canyon. The roads are a little small and winding, so be sure to be careful!

Enjoy a quick stop at Cascade Springs and walk around the beautiful areas to take in the mountain views, colors, wildlife, and natural water features like little waterfalls, springs, and pools. There is a boardwalk around the area is family friendly. It can take just a few minutes. Bring a picnic for extra fun!

Located at the Snowbird resort up Little Cottonwood Canyon and is an annual fall activity in Utah. They make it family-friendly with music, food, activities, and of course brews!

Take Photos in the Sunflower Fields

Sunflower season is technically more the end of summer, but can be a great gateway activity as you are getting ready for fall.

Go to the 5 day festival in Spanish Fork for some of the best photo opps and hayrides!

Lagoon Frightmares

Enjoy Lagoon in a whole new way! Rides, haunted houses, and spooky characters roaming make this an unforgettable Halloween experience. This is one of our favorite fall activities in Utah!

Ride Heber Valley Railroad Pumpkin Train

Enjoy a 40 minute train ride with characters, cookies, and a pumpkin on the historic Heber Valley Railroad! This fall activity is especially fun for families and children!

Look At The Hogle Zoo BooLights

Visit the Hogle Zoo and enjoy their Halloween themed lights! Many of the animals will be unavailable, so come for the fun lights and not the animals.

Go On A Ghost Tour

If you are looking for a fall activity in Utah to give you a good scare, look no further!

Grimm Ghost Tour – SLC

Take a tour of haunted locations throughout SLC and maybe see a ghost or two ? A bus takes you around to sites that you are then able to walk around. Tour guides share gruesome tales scary enough to give you nightmares!

Park City Ghost Tours

A scary tour with stories taken from research, interviews, and field recordings. The best ghost stories in the west!

Go To Park City’s “Autumn Aloft” Hot Air Balloon Festival

Park City is always a good idea. Enjoy the Autumn Aloft festival by watching the hot air balloons take off in the morning (which also sounds like a good photo opp) and enjoying the candlestick walk on Main Street at night.

Eat Fresh Peach Shakes

Peach season is the best season, in my opinion! Check out some of our favorites.

Burgess Orchards Fresh Peach Ice Cream, Apple Pie Sundaes, and Apple Cider Slushies

Burgess is my all-time favorite fall activity in Utah. The peach ice cream is HEAVENLY! Pay them a visit in the Alpine area.

Rockwell Ice Cream

Rockwell is always a great idea, but especially when they have their seasonal peach flavor made with locally-sourced peaches. Only available while supplies last, which tends to be late August to early September. Check out their 2 locations – Provo and Daybreak.

Taco Amigo

Taco Amigo is a Utah County secret gem. Locally owned with two locations, one in Pleasant Grove and one in Orem, they grow most of their own peaches in their orchard that are freshly picked every morning!! You can go through their drive-through for a quick stop, or grab some food and stay a while.

Chick-fil-A

I couldn’t leave out the obvious – Chick-fil-a also has something good going during fall with their peach shake!

Enjoy the Sleepy Hollow Haunted Wagon Ride

Take a seat on the wagon ride as you listen to the famous story of Sleepy Hollow with some surprising guests along the way. This is a unique fall activity in Utah that is suitable for all ages. Tickets are available online only. They are located in Utah Valley in North Springville.

Go To a Scarecrow Festival

There are two places you can visit Scarecrow festivals – Heber and Thanksgiving Point.

Homestead Resort Annual Scarecrow Festival

This Scarecrow Festival is an annual event at the Homestead Resort in Heber. Not only a beautiful location, but also a great way to support the local businesses that set up the scarecrows. Ballots are located at the front desk so you can vote for your favorite!

Thanksgiving Point Scarecrow Festival

These scarecrows at set up in the Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point (a great alternative to Cornbelly’s in the area). Enjoy walking around the beautiful 50-acre grounds with community-made scarecrows, games, and music. They also are hosting a Scarecrow 5k!

Pick Fresh Fruit from a Local Orchard

There are several orchards around Utah that allow you to pick your own produce during autumn harvest season! This is a fun and totally Instagram-worthy fall activity in Utah to support local farmers and businesses.

The Raspberry Patch

Located in Payson, Utah visit the Raspberry Patch to pick your own Raspberries!

Riley U-Pick Peaches

Riley’s is located in American Fork. They have corn, tomatoes, peaches, pears, and pumpkins. Park and walk, pick up the orchard map from the stand, pay for the box, then go pick your peaches! Or you can just grab an apple cider slushie!

Rocky Top Fruit Farm

Located in Payson, Rocky Top has a variety of U-pick fruit such as cherries (starting in June), apricots (starting in July), raspberries (beginning in August, along with honey), peaches (beginning in August), and apples (September and October). They also sell dried fruit, pre-picked fruit, honey and honeycomb, homemade jams and jellies, and bread!

McBride Briar Patch

Located in Mapleton, McBride offers berry picking! They have cute little buckets to use while picking the strawberries and raspberries.

Ride the Park City Alpine Slide

Park City is beautiful during the fall months, and the weather is perfect for the activities. Tickets are bought at the Park City Mountain Village ticket windows. For the Alpine Slide you hop on the ski lift (the best place to admire the beautiful changing leaves is definitely from above) then grab your “alpine slides” and race down the track!

They also have a “Mountain Coaster” that you can add to your ticket. The Mountain Coaster speeds through the trees and is a lot of fun as well! Afterwards enjoy walking through the shops and get some hot chocolate.

Price: Adults (or those above 48″) are $25 each, and passengers (those between 35″-47″) are $15 for the Alpine Slide tickets.

Take the Sundance Full Moon Lift

So technically this is a summer/fall activity but it is one of my favorites! Drive up Provo Canyon to take a ride on the Sundance Ski Lift under the full moon and stars. Bring blankets, hot cocoa, and your favorite person for a romantic ride. You don’t get off the lift at all, just enjoy the ride up and down for about an hour. You can buy tickets at their booth or online.

Enjoy Sundance Halloween Lift Rides

Missed the full moon dates? This is another great family-friendly option. The ride is about 45 minutes and has Halloween scenes below. Unfortunately they are closed for 2021 due to construction, but keep this in mind for the future!

Use The Sundance Day Time Scenic Lift Ride

Hop on and enjoy the views, or hop off and enjoy some time on the mountain sitting or hiking.

Float the Provo River Haunted Boat Cruise

Hop on a this 20 minute boat cruise and hear scary stories from the captain and enjoy the 100+ jack-o-lanterns. Cruises depart every 15 minutes. Buy tickets online at least before 3:00 PM the ay of. Bring a blanket and warm clothes!

Check out this Circus themed haunted house that is over 50,000 square feet of horror located in American Fork.

A yearly favorite in Salt Lake City. Tickets sell out on busy days so be sure to reserve your tickets ahead of time! This year is their 10 year anniversary!

Castle of Chaos has been around for 20 years! It is located in Midvale off of State Street.
